Welcome to the 2019 School Year

Welcome to the 2019 School Year

A warm welcome to all as we commence the new school year. In particular, a special welcome to all new families to Good Shepherd. We are pleased to have you join our school community and look forward to coming to know you a little better in the weeks ahead.

First Day

As I am sure you are well aware, students commence on Wednesday 30 January. Our school day officially begins at 8.50am. All students are to go directly to their classrooms. Our School Opening Chapel Service will be held at 9.15am in the School Gym. You are very welcome to join us for this special service to begin the school year.

The Service will be followed by Morning Tea in the adjoining Multipurpose Room at 9.45am. You are very welcome to remain for a while and catch up with other parents over a cup of tea or coffee.

Car Parking for Parents

Car parking is available in surrounding streets and the McAdam Square Shopping Centre. Parents are reminded to observe Council parking restrictions and avoid blocking residential driveways. The pedestrian lights on Plymouth Road opposite the School are staffed by a Crossing Supervisor before and after school.

The front car park is restricted to dropping off and collecting students. Please do not leave your car unattended in this area. It is a Drop Off and Collection Zone only. The central car spaces are restricted to staff and visitors.

The Golden Ridge Car Park and Luther College Car Park are restricted to staff only. We do thank you for your cooperation. We understand that Plymouth Road and the surrounding streets can be quite congested each morning and afternoon, and do thank you for your patience and understanding.

The Year Ahead

We have an exciting year ahead of us and we look forward to the journey we have together; a journey filled with many and varied learning experiences for your children and many opportunities for you to develop and grow relationships with others in the Good Shepherd community.

Every blessing to you for the year ahead.
